TUESDAY – TLW: Create “Speciation”! Each student will create a new species and justify its characteristics and traits. Students will collaborate in a group to decide “Who Eats Whom?” in a food chain containing these new species of plants and/or animals. HW: Complete directed reading questions for C3.1-C3.2 p.15-18 (6.5.2), (6.5.3)
WEDNESDAY –TLW: Finish the “Speciation” mini class project! Students are encouraged to be creative and to think
“outside-the-box” in their designs. Students will present on Friday. (6.5.2), (6.5.3)
THURSDAY – TLW: Be introduced to “Study Island”. Students will complete their first study island lesson. HW: Review Directed reading questions and class notes for C3 Test Tuesday.

MONDAY – TLW: Be introduced to Population Changes and heredity!!
C3p62-67!!! The diversity of life is incredible; yet what we see today is only a tiny view of all the different kinds of life that existed in the past. 6.6.2 HW: 1st and 3rd period: Research the following organisms and list the adaptations that help each organism to survive and reproduce. (bat, humming bird, alligator, duck, gray wolf, and spider)
TUESDAY – TLW: Define fossils as the remains or imprints of past life and describe how fossils are formed. Students will recognize that fossils are windows into time that let us see what living things once were like. 6.6.2
WEDNESDAY –TLW: Take a short quiz over C3.2. Students will also get instruction for the “Animal Adaptation Writing Project”.
THURSDAY – TLW: Describe the process of natural selection and outline the process of speciation. 6.6.3
FRIDAY – TLW: Write a paragraph describing the plot of a movie that shows how a population of cockroaches could become resistant to insecticide over time. 6.6.3
