MONDAY – TLW: No School. Presidents Day!!

TUESDAY – TLW: Examine “Interdependence of Plants and Animals” L1:TCAP Coach 6.2.1 Students will then compare the “Relationships Among Organisms” L2:TCAP Coach 6.2.2 Students will answer practice questions for both lessons.

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Discuss rotation vs. revolution from C8.1 and complete an activity where they calculate their ages on different planets. 6.7.4

THURSDAY – TLW Watch a video and a Brain Pop on rotation and revolution. 6.7.4

FRIDAY - TLW: Discuss the inner planets Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars and complete the workbook pages for these planets. 6.7.3

MONDAY – TLW: Finish and finalize ALL prepared Science Fair Project Presentations. Finalist will be chosen and submitted to compete in the GMS Science Fair! HW: Students should begin working on Directed Reading Worksheet and review class notes for Test on Friday.

TUESDAY – TLW: Complete a skill builder lab acitivity “Up from the Depths” NOTE: Students will complete this activity in the science lab! 6.7.4 HW: Review class notes for C6 and complete directed reading worksheets for C6.

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Review concepts covered on the Ocean’s Movement by watching the movie “Finding Nemo”. Students will answer questions from the video. HW: Review directed reading sheet and class notes.

THURSDAY – TLW: Finish answering questions from the movie “Finding Nemo” based on the movement of the ocean.

FRIDAY - TLW: Watch two “Brain Pop” videos to help review specific concepts covered in C6 (waves and tides). Students will then complete a test over The Movement of Ocean Waters.

MONDAY – TLW: Complete “A Tale of Three Climates” and Describe how Earth’s climate has changed over time and explain the greenhouse effect and its role in global warming. (6.7.3)

TUESDAY – TLW: Complete a vocabulary review and a study guide for the C7 Quiz on Wednesday. HW: Study notes for C7, Quiz Tomorrow!

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Complete the C7 Quiz. Students will also complete TCAP COACH pre-test question 33-64.

THURSDAY – TLW: Illustrate the parts of a wave and discuss how waves travel, wave speed and the types of waves. They will also complete the Ocean Waves Characteristics activity. C6:2 spi(6.7.4 and 6.14.1)

FRIDAY - TLW: Discuss the different types of tides and their relationship with the Earth, sun and moon. C6:3 (6.7.4) SCIENCE FAIR PROJECTS ARE NOT DUE TODAY! BUT, BRING THEM IN COMPLETED ON MONDAY! (February 4th) Display boards, binders, models, etc.

MONDAY – TLW: Go over C5 Directed Reading review sheets for TEST tomorrow. HW: Study for C5 Test! Check blog for additional study guide.

TUESDAY – TLW: Tuesday: Review the three major climate zones and where they are located. Students will also start drawing a diagram indicating the biome located in each zone with a brief descriptor. 6.7.3 HW: Bring in a sample of an “Evergreen”. Please keep sample size small enough to fit into a sandwich size ziplock bag!!!

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Complete the diagram of 3 major climate zones. Upon completion students will also participate in a “Climate Zone Challenge”. 6.7.3

THURSDAY – TLW: Complete “A Tale of Three Climates” and the science brain twister “Postcards From ????”. 6.7.3 HW: Review climate zone diagrams for brief quiz tomorrow!
