Please bring in one roll of toilet tissue for Monday’s activity

MONDAY – TLW: Complete the “Toilet Paper Solar System” activity. Students will build a scale model of the solar system using a roll of toilet paper!! HW: Review class notes for short quiz tomorrow!

TUESDAY – TLW: Discuss the moons of the planets in our solar system and create class notes. 6.7.3

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Illustrate a solar and a lunar eclipse and watch a video on solar and lunar eclipses. 6.7.3

THURSDAY – TLW Examine other small bodies in the solar system such as comets and asteroids. 6.7.1

FRIDAY - TLW: Examine “Earth Movements and Time” L14:TCAP Coach 6.7.1; “Gravity” L15:TCAP Coach 6.7.2; “Planets and their features” L16:TCAP Coach 6.7.3; and “Components of the Universe” “L17:TCAP Coach 6.7.4; Students will answer practice questions from these lessons.

MONDAY – TLW: Examine why Italy had few good harbors and so, few outside contacts. P.255-260 Students will also answer lesson review questions.

TUESDAY – TLW: Discover how Augustus immediately set to work uniting the diverse peoples of the Roman Empire. P.261-265 Students will also answer lesson review questions.

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Examine “Settlement and Migration” L3:TCAP Coach 6.1.6 6.1.8; “World Religions” L4:TCAP Coach 6.1.3. Students will also answer practice questions from these lessons.

THURSDAY – TLW: Complete activity sheets on the Roman Government and The Roman Empire. P.53-54

FRIDAY – TLW: Compare historical maps. P.266-267. Students will complete questions 1-6. Students will also complete activity sheet p55.

THURSDAY – TLW Complete a 4 tab Book on the outer planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto 6.7.3 HW: Review C9.2 Class Notes

FRIDAY - TLW: Watch a video covering both inner and outer planets. Students will answer questions comparing the planets similarities and differences. 6.7.3 HW: Review C9.1 and C9.2 Class notes for quiz Monday!

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Discover accomplishments made by famous African American Men using the Encylopedia Brittannica’s Guide to Black History.

THURSDAY – TLW: Discover accomplishments made by famous African American Men using the Encylopedia Brittannica’s Guide to Black History.

FRIDAY – TLW: Watch “The Boyhood of Martin Luther King Jr.” It presents a strong case for brotherhood and stimulates empathy and understanding for those who have endured prejudice-in a manner readily understood.

TUESDAY – TLW: Examine “Interdependence of Plants and Animals” L1:TCAP Coach 6.2.1 Students will then compare the “Relationships Among Organisms” L2:TCAP Coach 6.2.2 Students will answer practice questions for both lessons.

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Discuss rotation vs. revolution from C8.1 and complete an activity where they calculate their ages on different planets. 6.7.4

THURSDAY – TLW Watch a video and a Brain Pop on rotation and revolution. 6.7.4

FRIDAY - TLW: Discuss the inner planets Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars and complete the workbook pages for these planets. 6.7.3

THURSDAY – TLW: Introduce Ancient Rome! Students will complete a visual analysis activity.

MONDAY – TLW: Finish and finalize ALL prepared Science Fair Project Presentations. Finalist will be chosen and submitted to compete in the GMS Science Fair! HW: Students should begin working on Directed Reading Worksheet and review class notes for Test on Friday.

TUESDAY – TLW: Complete a skill builder lab acitivity “Up from the Depths” NOTE: Students will complete this activity in the science lab! 6.7.4 HW: Review class notes for C6 and complete directed reading worksheets for C6.

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Review concepts covered on the Ocean’s Movement by watching the movie “Finding Nemo”. Students will answer questions from the video. HW: Review directed reading sheet and class notes.

THURSDAY – TLW: Finish answering questions from the movie “Finding Nemo” based on the movement of the ocean.

FRIDAY - TLW: Watch two “Brain Pop” videos to help review specific concepts covered in C6 (waves and tides). Students will then complete a test over The Movement of Ocean Waters.

TUESDAY – TLW: Chapter 7 Vocabulary Test

WEDNESDAY –TLW: Locate features on a map (islands, peninsulas, and water). Students will also use “Greek” word origins to find their meaning. (activity book p45-46)

THURSDAY – TLW: Apply critical thinking skills “To Predict A Likely Outcome” of 5 Greek events! (activity book 49). HW: Review class notes for Chapter 7 Test (Ancient Greece)

FRIDAY – TLW: Complete Chapter 7 Test (Ancient Greece).
